Philosophical Premises in Psychotherapy Theories and the Catholic Christian Meta-Model of the Person
Paul C. Vitz, Ph.D.
Every therapy carries a philosophy of the person, usually unstated. This book brings those premises into the light, examines the major theories against the eleven premises of the Meta-Model, and shows what each can and cannot say about the people it treats.

Introduction to Psychology
DMU faculty
An undergraduate textbook now being written: the standard content of a first psychology course, taught from an integrated view of the person rather than a reductive one, so students meet the science and the whole person at the same time.
Ordering details for each title are available from Divine Mercy University.
What we welcome
Work the Press is looking for.
We read every proposal. The question we ask of each is the one the Meta-Model asks of every theory: does it see the whole person, and is it true to what we know?
Monographs and scholarly books
Original work in psychology, philosophy or theology that advances an integrated, non-reductive understanding of the person.
Textbooks and course companions
Teaching texts for undergraduate and graduate programs, and companion volumes for formation and continuing-education courses.
Clinical and pastoral guides
Practical books for clinicians, counselors, spiritual directors, coaches and ministers, grounded in the Model of the Person and in evidence.
Edited volumes and translations
Collections from conferences and working groups, and translations of significant works not yet available in English.
Submittals
Publish through DMU Press.
Tell us about the book. An idea, a proposal, a partial manuscript or a finished one are all welcome; we will reply with next steps and, where it fits, a request for sample chapters.
A proposal. A working title, the argument in a page, the audience, and why this book is needed now.
A sample. One or two chapters that show the voice and the level of the work, if you have them.
About you. Your affiliation and your relationship, if any, to the Meta-Model, to DMU, or to its programs.
